In partnership with Stillwater Area Public Schools Community Education, this is a “summer camp” production. All students who enroll will be cast in the show! The first day everyone will audition to receive roles. Students should prepare an “audition” with a song of their choice (instrumental backing tracks, karaoke tracks, or a capella).
Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York’s Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends — Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo — have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity in front of an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape with friends to explore the world, where they find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.
Participants will learn and practice acting, singing, dancing, and storytelling techniques in a collaborative setting.
