Hopping out of her recital gown and into something a bit more comfortable, soprano Gina Hanzlik presents “A Little (late) Night Music.”
With Casey Rafn on the keys, Gina will take you through a night of jazz club standards, opera classics, and some opera-fied covers of her favorite pop tunes. This cabaret style show will include the work of Johnny Mercer, Kurt Weill, Puccini, Bernstein, Rihanna, Kings of Leon, and more! Hear something new, something old, and something familiar like you’ve never heard it before.
Performing with an “aplomb rarely seen” (Le Devoir) and “a voice that is both brilliant in technique and deep in expressiveness” (Ludwig van Montreal) Brooklyn based soprano Gina Hanzlik is known for her deep commitment to character and delivery. Equally interested in exploring traditional repertoire and new works, Gina is an avid recitalist and regularly uses this medium to explore her jazz and Americana roots. She is a Teaching Artist with The Metropolitan Opera Guild and presents workshops on opera and voice to students around the country. She holds a master’s of Education from the University of Michigan, as well as music degrees from both McGill University and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. ginahanzlik.com
